Sam*, a 35-year old male, experienced abrupt onset severe lower back pain and a few days later experienced burning and a numbness tingling in his right leg. He went to his primary doctor, a spine surgeon and had six weeks of therapy. An MRI then showed a herniated disc in the lower back causing pressure on the nerve going down the leg. To help with this, Sam had injections and medication, which resulted in no relief and difficulty sleeping. After visiting Mulka Medical Institute, he was prescribed pulsed electromagnetic frequency therapy for his low back and leg pain following his disc herniation. After one week of using pulsed electromagnetic frequency therapy, he was able to sleep through the night without pain medicines and after two weeks; he was able to start walking for exercise again. After 4 weeks of using pulsed electromagnetic therapy, he was able to resume light strength training.
